To Be Seen engages in a dialogue with the long history of the female form in art, reinterpreting the semi-nude figure through a contemporary feminist lens.
Draped in a sheet, the figure exists in the tension between concealment and revelation, challenging the historical narrative in which the female body has been rendered passive, eroticised and commodified.
To Be Seen merges classical influences with self-portraiture, feminist discourse and personal healing. It invites the viewer to challenge traditional narratives. Through an interplay of history, self-exploration and resilience, this work seeks to redefine the narrative surrounding the female form in art today.
